Lake Gaston North Carolina Weather Lake Gaston weather is some of the finest in the state of North Carolina (and, the nation, for that matter). It’s a little slice of heaven because it has something to offer for everyone, depending on the time of year.   Lake Gaston is a manmade reservoir of some 31.7 square miles, with a maximum depth of about 95 feet. Here, anglers find all sorts of species, including largemouth bass, bluegill, striped bass, blue catfish, walleye, and more. Plus, Lake Gaston also boasts really great weather.
